St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOAMeet Your Hosts After several years of being full time RVers and Workampers, Damon and Eileen Roberts joined the KOA Company Owned Properties Manager training program in 2000. The training program took them through assignments at the Cape Hatteras, NC., Okeechobee, FL., and the Ocala, FL. properties before assuming their current role as General Managers of the St. Petersburg KOA in 2002. Since becoming managers of the resort, Damon and Eileen have taken the KOA theme "Great People, Great Camping" to the highest level. "Having been both campers and workampers for many years has enabled us to see both sides of the coin", said Damon. "We found out how we liked to be treated as campers and carried these favorable and, sometimes non-favorable, experiences with us when we joined KOA". Damon and Eileen train their staff (Great People) to offer the best customer service they can. All of their staff is empowered and have the title, 'Manager of Vacation Fulfillment'. Damon and Eileen's ultimate goal is to end up with guests (Great People) who have a truly memorable experience and are satisfied that the campground has fulfilled their expectations (Great Camping). To reach this goal, they pride themselves in the use of the 'WOW' principle. "The campers' first impression of our resort usually sets the tone for their entire stay * you only get one chance to make that first impression". As such, they focus a lot of attention on the entrance of the park with freshly cut and maintained lawns, trimmed trees, flowers, shrubbery, and no litter. There is well maintained signage, a clean/clear pool, plentiful lighting, well-stocked & clean store/registration area, well-maintained and clean road surfaces, clean golf carts and vehicles and sharply dressed and consistently uniformed staff. These are all things that an arriving guest will see first and what will create the 'WOW' impression. In their spare time, Damon continues his interest in collecting casino memorabilia while Eileen takes part in many fitness and exercise activities. Come meet Damon and Eileen Roberts. |
