Pick a Day to Celebrate with KOA!

Celebrate at KOAEvery day at a KOA is a celebration, but holidays get special treatment. Across North America, KOA Campgrounds make a big deal out of holidays. From Thanksgiving and Christmas to Mardi Gras, the Fourth of July and Canada Day - there's something fun going on just about all the time. Join in and let the celebration begin!

Here are just a few examples of celebrations that you will find. Be sure to check with your favorite KOA for their favorite holidays!

On St. Patrick's Day at the Needles, California KOA, an enormous batch of corned beef and cabbage is made, Irish-themed movies are shown, and music from the "old country" is played.

On Easter at the Burlington / Anacortes, Washington KOA, kids love the guess-the-number-of-jelly-beans contest, egg dyeing and Easter egg hunt with a special guest appearance from the Easter Bunny.

On Memorial Day, pull on your bobby socks and poodle skirt for a Golden Oldies ('50's and '60's) weekend at the Elkhart County / Middlebury, Indiana KOA.

For Canada Day, the Cardinal, Ontario KOA celebrates with a potluck, fireworks and plenty of games for the kids.

On Independence Day, Smokey the bear arrives at the Manchester Beach / Mendocino Coast, California KOA, and campers at Gettysburg / Battlefield, Pennsylvania KOA enjoy Civil War songs and stories and a re-enactment of the historic battle of Gettysburg. The Willits / Ukiah, California KOA enters their hay wagon as a float in the town parade-and campers are welcome to ride in it.

On Halloween, the Skowhegan / Canaan, Maine KOA hosts a celebration "to die for," with a haunted house, hayrides, bonfire, trick-or-treating, site-decorating contest and pumpkin carving-then campers bring out their stomping shoes for the annual ghost stomp!

For Thanksgiving, dozens of campgrounds host Thanksgiving dinners. Some feature delicious deep-fried turkeys, including the Lafayette, Louisiana KOA - a turkey feast with all the trimmings.

Of course the Winter Holidays are a big deal at KOA's so there are lots of lights, music, decorations and gift exchanges. In Colorado, visit La Junta KOA's year-round Christmas store. The Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA's drive-through Christmas display glows with more than 32,000 lights. Santa visits and hot cocoa makes your stay here extra cozy.
